As the first building on campus, constructed in 1915, University Hall had been rendered out of date by the effects of time, intensive use and changing technology. The building appeared dark, dingy, and simply “old.” The updated building boasts a restored exterior façade with an impressive new entry on the east and a restored entry with a new grand exterior stair on the west; the original marble entrance and main stairway on the interior were restored to like-new condition, preserving its historic significance.
The updated University Hall is a dynamic facility that houses the offices of several high-impact university programs that define the Bowling Green undergraduate experience: Pre-Professional Programs, Learning Communities Office, the Center for Undergraduate Research, and the Center for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education: Opportunities for Success (COSMOS). The Office of Admissions was relocated to University Hall to provide an engaging and impressive first experience for prospective students and guests. The building also includes six cutting-edge classrooms that service the entire campus, illustrating the latest benchmarks in flexible and adaptable active learning environments.
