Bowling Green State University, Moseley Hall Renovation

Moseley Hall is a historic 1913 building in the Traditions Quad at Bowling Green State University. The project team designed exterior restorations and updates as well as interior renovations that enable the facility to redefine STEM education and research for the next generation.
The program provides modern flexible, interdisciplinary lab and classroom environments for Chemistry, Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Anatomy & Physiology and Forensics. The primary design goal was to preserve a budget already established by the university and balance it with conditions of a historic building and unique program use while achieving LEED Gold certification.
Moseley Hall is an active and exciting learning environment with formal and informal learning spaces that encourage group learning and interaction between faculty and students inside and outside the classroom.
Specifically, on the second and third floors, several existing classrooms were reimagined into open collaboration zones. All laboratory space is designed to maximize flexibility in use and scheduling. Lab planning was based on best practice teaching pedagogies.
