Bishop High School

Bishop High School is situated in the small, 100-year-old cotton and cattle town of Bishop, Texas. Next to the Dairy Queen on U.S. 77, a new brick, masonry and glass building attracts the community and travelers alike.
The 115,000-square-foot high school contains 34 classrooms, a cafeteria, library, vocational shop and two gymnasiums. The fine-arts complex includes a band hall, choir hall and support spaces. Teachers give technologically current instruction from a new art lab, computer labs and science labs. The facade of the new facility is composed of multiple sizes and colors of brick, and concrete masonry expressed in rectangular massing and contrasting bands. Natural light is a large component of the design, using high ceilings and large spans of glass.
The cafeteria centrally supports social areas that reach out into the corridors. These spaces encourage students to study, dream and plan out their days. The high school has the state’s highest and exclusive rating of exemplary for its educational achievements.
