Bartlesville High School knew it was time for a change when the students and faculty outnumbered the seats in its 60-year-old auditorium. A 2001 bond issue provided funds for a new fine-arts facility.
The signature feature of the facility is a 1,208-seat performing-arts auditorium that serves the entire student body and faculty. Spaces for the music and fine-art departments, previously scattered throughout the high school, are now concentrated in the fine-arts addition. These spaces include:
•A vocal music room for 60 students.
•A band room for 70 students.
•An orchestra room for 65 students.
•A computer music lab for 24 students.
•Band, orchestra and vocal practice rooms adjacent to the stage.
•A large art room, speech/drama classroom and other spaces for the arts.
The center also serves as one of the venues for the OK-MOZART International Music Festival.
