Auburn High School, Cafeteria and Kitchen Renovation
Auburn, Alabama
This project updated the cafeteria and kitchen at Auburn High School into a contemporary and versatile assembly space that would encourage lunch participation and upgrade the campus image.
The new food court has multiple eatery options and styles in order to compete in an ever-changing market. With a grab-and-go concept, multiple serving lines and numerous points of sale, the high school students now are presented with quick, modern options to enhance their lunch break while increasing lunch sales for the school.
Within the first week of serving, the lunch program increased from 525 meals per day to 700 meals per day.
Flow and function was an essential component of the design. With correct plan arrangement, this issue was resolved through multiple clear aisles of circulation and multiple doors that lead the students in and out quickly.
