The classically inspired brick structure is designed to be symbolically and literally the academic heart of this growing and evolving university campus. Near the new main entrance, it provides a focal point and anchor for the academic core of the campus. A multilevel, light-filled entrance lobby with adjacent multipurpose space provides an indoor gathering place for formal and informal campus events, and a physical connection between the upper and lower levels of the campus. An outdoor terrace and adjacent park-like lawn will provide additional space for special events and commencements.

The library houses 500,000 volumes, study space for 900 students and contains independently accessible computer labs and a 24-hour study room. Also, the library contains administrative offices and a variety of specialized support facilities for staff, faculty and students.
