When Phase II of the UT Knoxville Student Union is completed, it will include an auditorium/performance venue, a ballroom for events and banquets, additional dining areas, a student recreation area, the Vol Card office, lounges, and additional program, conference, and ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONFEATURED IN2018 Architectural PortfolioSUB CATEGORYWork in Progress space.
The 10,000-square-foot auditorium will be the highlight of the facility, seating 999 people. It will be equipped with state-of-the art technology, and will offer an advanced and highly functional programming venue for student groups and departments on campus.
A signature element of Phase II will be a 12,000-square-foot ballroom. It will provide ambience and be equipped with dramatic lighting, the latest technology, and movable walls.
The building will provide new office suites for the Student Government Association, Dean of Students Office, Center for Student Engagement, Center for Leadership and Service, and Sorority and Fraternity Life as well as a Student Organization Suite.
The two-story conference room, accommodating 150 people, will serve as a venue for programs and events.
A new dual-purpose recreation area will feature video gaming, billiards, and table tennis as well as a programming venue for small events.
