The facility accommodates administration and counseling suites; faculty offices and work areas; general classrooms; curriculum rooms for art, science, special education, and family and consumer science; a media center/library; a computer lab; an industrial technology lab; Project Lead the Way (PLTW) space; drama rehearsal space; and a music wing for band and choral programs. Activities spaces include a full gymnasium, locker rooms with coaches’ offices, and a fitness room. The music wing of the building is constructed as a storm shelter that meets ICC 500 and FEMA requirements. General support spaces include food service, commons/cafeteria, general storage, mechanical and electrical rooms, data rooms, network room and office, as well as toilet facilities for the entire building. The critical challenge for this project was to promote team-teaching areas for each grade that would house at least one core program per team, thus reducing travel time for students and creating a more intimate collaborative learning space.
