Featured academic spaces include simulation and skills labs, classrooms (including three flexible classrooms), a general chemistry lab, a microbiology lab, an anatomy and physiology lab, research labs, a health informatics computer lab and faculty offices. Other notable spaces include a flat-floor auditorium that is also used for collegiate gatherings, a VR cadaver lab, and a future computer-assisted virtual environment (CAVE).
The design also provides soft study areas for students to collaborate and socialize. The building references the campus’ Dutch architectural influence and uses local stone. A key design feature, a glass atrium, connects Main Street with a new campus quad.
A three-story tower prominently displays the college’s Moravian star symbol and serves as an important campus wayfinding element. A new café further enhances the streetscape along Main Street.
