The two-wing building revolves around the common spaces, which encourage students and faculty to collaborate and host study sessions. Each floor provides different types of commons spaces—from fostering intimate conversation to encouraging large gatherings.
The building’s interior was developed to maximize collaboration by using a “science on display” theme. This was accomplished through the use of glass interior walls that enable constant daylight and the use of neutral architectural finishes. Low-profile and bright lively colors were incorporated in the furniture finish selections and key accent walls to highlight the natural surroundings.
