IN2 at the Illinois Math and Science Academy (IMSA) is a state-of-the-art innovation center, designed to ignite collaboration and entrepreneurial activity among students, educators, business, and the community to solve real-world problems, create prototypes and launch ideas that advance the human condition. The center is made possible by a generous lead gift of $1 milion ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONCOST PER SQ FT$270.00FEATURED IN2018 Educational Interiors ShowcaseINTERIOR CATEGORYStudent Centers/Service Areas Steve Chen (’96), an IMSA alumnus and co-founder of YouTube and AVOS Systems. IN2 focuses on STEM and innovation, including entrepreneurship education, teaching and learning, maker movement, and diversity.
IN2 resembles a contemporary office space more than a traditional academic classroom. Students have control over where and how they work. Its maker space is a place to tinker and to design and create by doing. The center also has office space for an entrepreneur-in-residence, as well as a media wall, an idea bar, and a café.
The design introduces natural light where before there was none. It is a new classroom prototype and an “on-ramp” to the future world market!
