Design details center on facilitating student learning as opposed to traditional instruction. From lab station design to chair selection, to creating opportunities for natural light, to the imagery of the mural in “The Nucleus,” each choice was made with the intent of supporting students of all learning types, ages, and capabilities.

Multiple small-group breakout spaces and large-group breakout spaces subvert the traditional four-walled classroom. Even the hallways support using science technology and 1:1 learning. From the wireless environment to the metered floor markings to the monitors displaying curricular content, science news, and student work, staff and students maximize learning by eschewing the traditional classroom.
