The new two-story Instructional Building will be composed of high-capacity, multidiscipline classrooms, faculty offices, and meeting spaces. The first floor will feature eight classrooms with a ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONCOST PER SQ FT$633.00FEATURED IN2016 Architectural PortfolioSUB CATEGORYWork in Progress of 45 students each and one forum-size classroom with a capacity of 90 students.
The second floor is focused on continuing the interaction between faculty and students outside the classroom. The upper level will include 47 faculty offices, a large conference room, two meeting rooms, staff lounge, and a breakroom for students to use while they wait to meet with professors and advisers.
The layout of the building was kept simple in order to maintain easy navigation, thus maximizing the usable square footage of the building. The Instructional Building was thoughtfully designed to not only include elements of the existing architectural fabric of the San Luis Obispo campus but also introduce new design elements to the building and the campus architecture.
