The primary focus for rebuilding Indio High School was to enhance and reimagine the established educational programs by providing modern facilities infused with technology and spaces that inspire collaboration and creativity.
Existing school programs such as agriculture have been transformed into biotechnology and veterinary science, and welding and drafting into ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONCOST PER SQ FT$391.00FEATURED IN2016 Educational Interiors ShowcaseINTERIOR CATEGORYCommon Areas design. The program augments teaching expertise with technology, distance learning, and community partnerships.
When finished, Indio High School will be organized around a central quad and amphitheater to promote student social integration and school spirit. The quad is connected with dispersed smaller courts formed between the buildings that create outdoor spaces for small learning communities.
In the later phase, additional specialized programs will become available for students in the arts and humanities building, including fashion design and video broadcasting and in the career technology building, including veterinary science, biotechnology, engineering design, and green power technology.
Innovation and collaboration spaces create synergies among programs and allow for creative teamwork to occur. Flexible furniture layouts, enhanced technology support and distance learning enable a variety of teaching methodologies to be used as the programs develop.
