The Health Professions building, when completed, will be a 35,000-square-foot renovation of the automotive technology building constructed in 1976. The new programmed areas will be state-of-the-art labs for the nursing, respiratory therapy and medical lab technology programs, a new administration suite, an 80-seat tiered lecture hall, and a large two-story student commons.
The building will also receive a facelift; an existing facade of overhead garage doors will be replaced with large amounts of storefront glazing, corrugated metal panels and a contemporary fiber cement panel system.
