Parker High School is a unique facility designed for use from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

A central spine connects six learning academies and the central commons area. Students at Parker maintain individualized schedules, and the commons provides areas for studying, dining and waiting between classes. The dining/lounging area quickly configures into an assembly arrangement for performance or community activities. The dining area provides seated tables, stand-up tables and counters with stools, with kitchen and serving areas closed off to minimize sounds and smells.

The commons loft (cyber lounge) has comfortable seating, a quiet area for studying, and connections to wired and wireless networking. The administrative offices, media center, technology learning studios, staffless school store and athletic fieldhouse are easily accessible from this central space.

Smooth concrete countertops, maximized daylighting and an impressive wood slat ceiling give the space a warm, yet industrial feel. Integrated principles of sustainability significantly improve Parker’s energy-efficiency and durability.
