Furniture, fixtures and equipment planning was driven by the university’s directive to create a modern technology center with a corporate vernacular in which business, research and teaching work together.

The public areas included an open study area with a panoramic view of the campus. The massive expanse of glass, and its accompanying heat load and glare, are protected by solar shades on timers. Furnished with luxurious lounge chairs supported by data-powered tablet arms for laptops, this space is more relaxing than a classroom setting and conducive to greater creativity.

A corporate-style conference room is surrounded by paneled and upholstered walls, a built-in granite credenza and an audiovisual wall. The conference table is supported with data and power connections, and has black leather seating.

“Excellent detailing. Very sleek and professional. A lot of bang for the buck.”--2006 jury
