The new Waupun High School houses 950 students on a block schedule. This two-story building was designed to be used by the community during after-school hours.

It features a three-station gymnasium, a community library, a large-group instruction room (LGI), a multipurpose commons space, a television production studio, a distance-learning lab, a technology center, and ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONCAPACITY950COST PER SQ FT$78.52FEATURED IN2001 Architectural Portfolio community weightroom. Between the LGI and the commons lies a performance stage that opens to both sides for lectures in the LGI, and for school performances and events, such as prom and school dances, on the other.

Each department’s classrooms surround an enclosed resource space used by students for independent and small- group study and research. The resource areas also include office space, conference facilities and storage space for each educational team.

The building was designed to blend with its natural setting, the Horicon Marsh.
