Douglas Koehne, AIA, NCARB, Earns CEFP Designation

DALLAS (Dec. 21, 2015) –Douglas Koehne, AIA, NCARB, has received the Certified Educational Facility Planner (CEFP) certification, demonstrating his expertise and ability as an educational facility planner. Koehne works in KSQ Architects’ Dallas office and is a member of the North Texas Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (formerly CEFPI).

Koehne has worked on K12 educational projects for 25 years and partnered with 50 school districts on over 100 projects. In addition to K12 architectural projects, Koehne has also volunteered his time with the ACE Mentor Program, provided Safe School assessments for districts in Oklahoma and Texas, and worked on Habitat for Humanity projects in the Dallas area.

Koehne is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture, and is also a member of the Texas Society of Architects, American Institute of Architects, Construction Specifications Institute, and United States Green Building Council.

KSQ’s K12 portfolio includes the AIA award-winning Carnegie Learning Center renovation for the Kingston City School District, the new Science Wing at Rye School District, and the AIA award-winning Jenks Trojan Aquatic center for Jenks Public Schools in Oklahoma. Current KSQ K12 projects include the district expansion and renovation or Kingston City School District, The Collegiate Center for Edison Preparatory High School, a STEAM Neighborhood Addition to the North Brunswick High School, and the Innovation Center at Kent Place.
