Shive-Hattery Appoints New President

James A. Lee named president of firm

Shive-Hattery announced the election of James A. Lee, PE, LEED AP BD+C, to the position of president. Lee has served as executive vice president since January 2012.

Thomas M. Hayden, PE, L.S., has served as president and chairman of the board since 1996 and will remain as chairman of the company.

Lee joined the architecture and engineering consulting firm in 1985 and has more than 30 years of experience. He has a mechanical engineering background and previously served as the Building Systems Team Leader in Shive-Hattery’s West Des Moines office, the largest team in the company.

As president, Lee is responsible for the overall leadership, culture, vision and direction of current and future operations of the firm.

Shive-Hattery is a 350-person architecture and engineering firm with offices in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and West Des Moines, Iowa; Bloomington, Chicago, Downers Grove, and Moline, Ill.; Valparaiso, Ind.; and Chesterfield, Mo.
