Cumberland High School

Cumberland High School will accommodate 1,500 students. The design, which is based on a prototype plan, is flexible and can be adapted to hold capacities of 800 to 1,750 students.

Safety is an emphasis of the design. Everyone entering the building will use a single-point entry. Parking lots will be located in front of the building. The central two-story naturally lighted atrium will serve as a student commons, as well as the lobby for the gymnasium, auditorium and cafeteria. All of the academic houses will be organized around the central atrium, which will allow a sense of equality for all school functions. The core academic houses are designed to be grouped by department or by grade level.
