Driven by campus growth and the potential to attract prospective students, the addition and renovation of Indiana Wesleyan’s Wellness and Recreation Center adds 82,500 square feet to the existing 41,000-square- foot facility. The new design re-orients the building entrance toward the center of campus, providing easy access to the many activities available within ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONCOST PER SQ FT$64.00FEATURED IN2000 Architectural PortfolioSUB CATEGORYRenovation facility.

The front entrance opens to multiple areas of activity, including a 25-yard natatorium, fitness center, rock climbing wall, racquetball courts and a weightlifting center. Other features include an intramural activity center, VIP suite, broadcast booth, golf simulation center, competition level volleyball/basketball courts, and an indoor running track, in addition to team locker rooms, office space, classrooms and support spaces.

The addition surrounds the existing facility, which maximized facility use during construction while creating a new look. The result is what appears to be a new facility that was constructed in less than 16 months.
