This 4,000-seat facility accommodates recreation, intramural, fitness programs, intercollegiate competitions, performances, convocations, conferences and outreach activities.
The center houses a comprehensive health facility with three basketball courts, locker rooms, a fitness center, indoor jogging track and lounge. Outdoor facilities include sand volleyball COST PER SQ FT$60.24FEATURED IN2000 Architectural PortfolioSUB CATEGORYSpecialized and six tennis courts.
Adding this facility was the top priority in the university’s master plan.
Phase I included: multipurpose arena; exercise/fitness center; Hall of Fame/VIP reception area; three basketball courts; multiuse recreational space; volleyball court; nutri-bar; badminton courts; kitchen; indoor jogging track; concession; varsity and visitor locker rooms; coaches’ locker room; officials’ dressing room.
Phase II completed the center and allowed the offering of at least two new degree programs. It included: indoor pool; racquetball and squash courts; dressing/locker rooms; comprehensive fitness center; conference room; expanded health bar; student health center; student lounge/study area; aerobics rooms; administrative offices.
