The Doermer Family Center for Health Science Education is the keystone of the University of Saint Francis’ plan to become one of the Midwest’s premier providers of healthcare and health-science education. At nearly 72,000 square feet, the center is home to the university’s schools of nursing, allied health and continuing education.
The multidiscipline design program is centered on a common need of all three users for traditional classroom space and healthcare simulation labs. The design features 14 traditional classrooms, a dividable lecture room, nursing skills and simulation labs, physical-therapy and occupational-therapy labs, a simulated surgical-tech suite, a continuing-education classroom and a radiologic technology suite.
