The 1960s cafeteria just did not “cut the mustard” any longer. Multithemed vignettes were outdated, uninviting and inconsistent. This private college needed to create an exciting dining experience as an amenity for student recruitment and retention.

To respond, the design team created the following dining experiences: the pub, cafe, bistro, coffee bar, gazebo, north dining, west dining and the servery. The building shell remained untouched, but interior structures, systems, finishes and furniture all were changed. New kitchen equipment was added, and the servery was opened up to reveal the food-preparation process to users.
