The design of the West Quad Academic Building was the first step toward defining a new academic center for Richard Stockton College. The new building provides classroom, laboratory and office space in anticipation of continued growth.
The building houses academic programs in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech pathology COST PER SQ FT$150.00FEATURED IN2000 Educational Interiors2000 Architectural PortfolioINTERIOR CATEGORYClassrooms audiology—the college’s core strengths. In addition, the building provides permanent spaces for student-health services, uniting all health-related functions in one building.
This project emphasizes classrooms that accommodate video, data and communications technology. Each classroom has ceiling-mounted, large-screen video and data projections for live, instructor-led lectures and demonstrations. Podiums have connections to the Internet and campus network.
Externally, the building serves as a point of entry to the academic complex. As the first structure to occupy the new quadrangle, the West Quad Academic Building must stand alone initially and at the same time anchor the future ensemble of four buildings.
