Its vision is to sustain excellence in oral health care education by attracting patients to ensure the school’s ability to conduct clinical care and research.
The four-story state-of-the-art clinic was intentionally designed to create the best clinical experiences so that the school is able to attract the next generation of students, faculty, and patients. Situated adjacent to the university’s Medical Center, the clinical facility enhances interdisciplinary interactions between clinical specialties and improves the university’s ability to provide multispecialty care in one location.
Daylight, collaborative spaces, high-tech equipment, and patient-friendly waiting rooms are incorporated throughout. The building was designed around a central courtyard so that daylight can reach most areas of the building and serve as an organizational feature for patients’ visits. To appeal to millennial students, the center has a variety of study spaces and readily available access to technology. The university’s brand is showcased throughout.
Construction was completed in 2015, on budget and on schedule. The facility is considered a success by the university and the community.
