Broward College’s Health Sciences Center is a LEED Silver-certified facility. The nursing school teaching building was designed to replicate realistic practice settings. The facility has simulation laboratories, a large cardiovascular room for two additional simulation laboratories, classrooms, administrative offices, student collaboration areas, a 100-seat lecture hall, and remote learning center ancillary support spaces.
The simulation laboratories have human patient simulators with bedside computers, specialized hospital equipment specific to the function of each lab, internet access, digitalized video, recording cameras and TV monitors. Each patient care unit accommodates six students and instructor(s) in an adjoining control room.
