The Connecticut State College and University system (CSUS) required new master plans for each of its four comprehensive state universities – Central, Eastern, Southern and Western. Symmes Maini & McKee Associates (SMMA) responded by developing a master plan for each state university guided by the challenges unique to their respective campuses and surrounding community, while also ensuring future plans and developments accommodated for the needs of students preparing to enter the workforce and contribute to the civic life of Connecticut’s diverse communities.
The outcomes of these strategic initiatives resulted in overlying themes and tangible achievements at each campus. When completed, enrollment reached a record level of 36,629 students in CSUS.
