In order to achieve this goal, glass was strategically incorporated throughout the facility to create a high level of transparency from outside the building as well as within it. Upon entering the building, the spacious, two-story lobby opens up to the college’s expanded culinary program/restaurant as well as a sustainable technologies lab. An open stair leads students up to a glass enclosure that houses a newly created mechatronics program as well as other technology-rich learning spaces.
The college’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in the use of natural materials and energy efficient HVAC systems that are displayed within lab spaces as well as within the public spaces throughout the LEED Silver Certified building.
