As an environment to deliver the latest procedures and technologies while facilitating learning, the fifth floor unit is also designed to accommodate future advancements. The program includes an electrophysiology lab, cardiac catheterization lab, cardiac observation unit, and two hybrid operating room suites, totaling nine procedure rooms.
Unique attributes of the Institute’s space include:
• The Radial Lounge is an innovative approach encouraging immediate ambulation. The usual bed is replaced with a recliner in a spa-like environment.
• Patient recovery (PACU) has separate rooms for privacy rather than curtained-off patient spaces. Decentralized nurse work areas aid patient observation.
• The hybrid operating rooms are designed with the latest recommended square footage to accommodate the most advanced technology.
