The available site for the new wellness center was a narrow space between existing areas—Herb Parker Stadium and athletic field and the Dome, which serves as the sports and event arena for MSU.

The final design of the wellness center integrates seamlessly between these areas. An enclosed walking bridge on the second floor connects the facility to Swain Hall, which houses many complementary academic programs such as nutrition, physical therapy and exercise science. It also provides an internal link for easy access to the Minot State University Community Bowl, the Department of Physical Education and the future School of Nursing. Funding for the center was provided by student fees.
