Francis Howell High School

The architect was retained to develop a new master plan to replace major portions of the existing facility with a workable/fundable budget. The multiple bid packages allowed for phased replacements while maintaining full high school operations for 1,800 students and design capacity greater than 2,000.

The new facility has about 320,000 square feet of new construction attached to about 40,000 square feet of remaining building. It houses about 100 new classrooms, including standard classrooms, sciences labs, business and computer labs, specialty classrooms and shops. 

In addition, the facility will have new support spaces, such as two full administration suites, a library, commons/cafeteria and adjacent kitchen, and a new multipurpose gymnasium, complete with multiple locker rooms, an office suite, training room and weightroom.
