Abraham Lincoln Elementary School is designed for energy efficiency and exceeds the Massachusetts Energy Code by 30 percent. Key elements of the design include a roof that produces renewable energy from an 80 kWh photovoltaic (PV) system; classrooms with daylight harvesting; and a synthetic play field for student and public use, which eliminated potable water irrigation.
Abraham Lincoln Elementary School has been designated a "Model Elementary School" by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Model School Program.
