The Collin College—Preston Ridge Campus Classroom Building and Conference Center provides new instructional facilities and enables Collin College to provide a high-quality education. The new state-of-the-art conference center provides users and vendors a venue to engage students with career opportunities and FEATURED IN2012 Architectural Portfolio curriculum-enhancing programs.
The building is situated on the northwest corner of the Preston Ridge campus in Frisco, Texas. The building facade is calcium silicate and brick that extends into the interior. Aluminum-clad canopies and pedestrian walkways are included along the exterior.
Program requirements from Collin College specified that the conference center have a seating capacity of 900 people. The conference center, at 19,000 square feet, has integrated audiovisual systems, videoteleconferencing capabilities and can be divided into three conference spaces. Wireless computer access also is included throughout the conference center and classroom building.
The classroom building contains 33 classrooms, four science laboratories and prep rooms, as well as three office suites, providing 41 new offices. Student-zone areas also are included throughout the building.
