The expansion of the Tampa campus for Nova Southeastern University is a 26,447- square-foot interior buildout that will house the physical therapy, occupational therapy and cardiac sonography programs. This buildout will complete the occupation of the entire building.
Three major programs are on the floor: The physical therapy COST PER SQ FT$45.37FEATURED IN2012 Educational InteriorsINTERIOR CATEGORYLaboratories has two large PT labs, one on each wing; the occupational therapy program includes the activity analysis lab, functional performance lab and activities of daily living (ADL) training area; and the cardiac sonography program includes the sonography lab. The balance of the space is made up of an administrative area, general classrooms and study rooms, a research lab and support spaces.
The occupational therapy ADL training room is a unique space to help people adjust to everyday life. The space is set up to mimic a typical one-bedroom apartment. The space has a fully functional kitchen, laundry, bedroom and bathroom spaces. This teaching space enables staff to instruct students in a real-life scenario to better equip them for the challenges they will face outside the classroom.
