The architect was commissioned by the University of Central Oklahoma to design a classroom and faculty office building. The facility is known as the Center for Transformative Learning.

University officials challenged the architect to provide a flexible and interactive forum for student and faculty instruction. Classrooms have wireless computer access for laptops and state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment.

Breakout rooms and alcove areas are provided for small groups. Additionally, offices for full-time and adjunct faculty are provided. This 32,000-square-foot facility provides space for a coffee bar, food-service area and a recital hall seating 150 people. A large outdoor classroom has been included on the east side of the building.

In maintaining the spirit of the campus to support sustainable development, the Center for Transformative Learning was built using green principles to meet LEED certification requirements.
