The most distinctive feature of the building is the intimacy of the arena bowl. The compact site required the upper seating bowl to be placed over the concourse to achieve the required seating capacity. This feature provides the impressive scale of a larger arena. The proximity of the seating to the floor, the upper seating bowl and the open concourse all maintain the intimate scale of the original court and provide a unique fan experience.
The entire building was designed to preserve the scale of the historic brick wall, the building at 307 Meeting Street, and the adjacent existing buildings. The arched truss roof for the hospitality suite was used to convey the desired fieldhouse image.
