The Career Services and Experiential Learning (CSEL) Building houses two departments at the University of Central Florida. Each has the mission of helping students find their professional calling and connecting them to the workplace where they can gain experience through full-time jobs during school and following graduation.
The CAPACITY250COST PER SQ FT$229.00FEATURED IN2011 Architectural Portfolio of the project, situated prominently on the Memory Mall of the main campus, is a signature building that provides easy access for students to these services, and is an inviting and open space that encourages student and faculty collaboration.
The interior spaces include seminar rooms used for teaching and training, career expo functions and employer social events, interview rooms, resource labs, conference rooms and administrative space. The seminar room is equipped with the latest audiovisual technology for teaching and long-distance learning, and has flexible furniture to accommodate the various functions of the space.
The project is designed to achieve LEED gold certification, and the final energy analysis shows the building achieving a 40 percent increase in energy performance.
