Spanish Fort Middle School

Spanish Fort, Alabama

The major programming goals for this project were to design a state-of-the-art facility with room for expansion, and wide corridors for students and faculty circulation.

The facility accommodates team-teaching techniques, and fills the school with natural light to enhance and enrich the students’ learning experience.

Natural daylighting is achieved through clerestory windows, daylight harvesting, lighting controls, interior light shelves and exterior louvers on the south facades.

The building was designed to withstand 140 mph winds in the coastal area.
