The new Cuivre Park Elementary School was designed to accommodate students in grades K to 5. The facility includes 30 standard classrooms, an art room, special education, OT/PT and speech classrooms.
Shared resource alcoves are incorporated to provide staff the necessary space for one-on-one instruction. Additional instructional space with group seating also is provided, along with a multi-
purpose/gymnasium space, which includes a raised stage.
Support spaces include an administration suite, nurse’s office/sick room, faculty work room/lounge, and full food preparation, serving and storage.
The design includes a main entrance with canopy connecting to a secondary entrance that can be secured from the balance of the building to facilitate after-hours community use of the multipurpose cafeteria area.
An outdoor classroom canopy was incorporated with direct access from both classroom wings for secure and controlled staff access.
