Because automobiles play such an important role in the function of the building, there also had to be some showroom-like qualities about the building. The outdoor display areas and an all-glass entry with the spacious lobby enable the display of program-sponsored vehicles and give the visitor an immediate interaction with automobiles. These elements were designed to give the building a sense of pride about its function without cluttering up the overall appearance.

The Tidewater Community College Regional Automotive Center (RATC) will host numerous national automobile technology training conferences throughout the year.
