Centralia Intermediate School is designed to accommodate grades 3 to 5. The design includes 14 standard classrooms; individual art, science and music classrooms; special education; and gifted classrooms. Shared resource areas support standard classrooms. Multipurpose/cafeteria space includes a raised performance platform and storage. A full complement of support spaces also is provided, including a book room, administration suite, nurse’s office/sickroom, faculty workroom/lounge, full-service food preparation, serving and storage spaces.

The facility incorporates a fiber-optic network backbone, and each classroom is wired to support the eMINTS educational program. Standard classrooms include an interactive whiteboard and computers for individual or two-students-per-computer configuration. The facility incorporates an energy-efficient HVAC system and individual classroom temperature control.

A main entrance with a lobby, and a secondary entrance, lobby and concession area can be secured from the balance of the building to facilitate after-hours community use of the multipurpose area.
