Located adjacent to North Attleborough High School, this new 170,000-square-foot, 1,300-student middle school effectively creates a secondary educational campus for a growing community.
A true middle school, the facility has a grade-level house on each floor of the three-story academic wing. All houses are within one level of the administration and core facilities COST PER SQ FT$131.76FEATURED IN1999 Architectural Portfolio the main level, with seventh grade at the lower level, sixth grade at the main level and eighth grade at the upper level. Each house is made up of three five-classroom teams, including a science classroom/lab on the outside. Common learning spaces, including team meeting rooms, computer labs and SPED rooms are on the inside.
The academic wing wraps around a central courtyard and the library/media center. Each team has a teacher planning room, separate toilet and display areas and color-coded lockers and finishes in their corridor.
The gymnasium and cafetorium are available for after-hours public use through separate access from the outside and the main level public lobby. The administration, library/media center and music suites also can be accessed independently from the academic areas of the facility for after-hours activities.
