The architect provided design services for Hillcrest Senior High School in the Springfield Public School District. The addition to this high school includes a new 25,000-square-foot science technology wing with 10 new classrooms for chemistry, biology, physics and general science. Information technology commitments with interactive whiteboard technology and wireless computer support were incorporated into several of the science laboratories.
Sustainable-design concepts were integrated into many aspects of the building, including a naturally lighted central atrium, daylighting in the classrooms, erosion control during construction and low-VOC paint.
