The new Paradise Elementary School is expected to be the first elementary school in Lancaster County, Pa., to achieve LEED gold certification. The design of the building took into account several environmental and economic considerations; the predominant one was improving the core learning spaces and reducing energy. The classrooms are stimulating and productive environments for children to learn, with furniture and cabinetry that optimize the storage space.
The building has colorful graphics and banners that reinforce the building’s sustainable principles.
The entire school is designed to maximize efficiency by serving the district’s new and expanded educational program needs, as well as providing a space for community after-school activities.
