The new Bluffton Middle School facility is a compact, two-story building in the center of town, connected to the elementary school and convenient to the high school.
Administration offices next to the main entrance and auditeria provide convenience for the students, staff and patrons.
The large kitchen serves 1,000 students for lunch in the cafetorium, which CAPACITY375COST PER SQ FT$77.77FEATURED IN1999 Architectural Portfolio as an auditorium with a large stage, outstanding acoustics and excellent sound and lighting systems. A high-school-size gym with locker rooms and physical- education storage room serves junior-high athletics, as well as physical education. Adequate vocal and instrumental music classrooms and support areas are important to this strong program.
Academic areas include 11 classrooms, three science labs, an art lab with support areas, a small-group room, two conference rooms, and staff workrooms and restrooms. All classrooms have access to the large computer lab, technology center and library/media center. This school also features extensive voice, data and video wiring.
The limited site provides parking for staff, and convenient entrances for students, staff, the public and for deliveries.
