The CSN Library/Classroom Building is a showcase educational facility on the West Charleston Campus of the College of Southern Nevada system. The LEED-sensitive design of 78,110 square feet features 24,000 square feet of library space, which includes an information commons for book and periodical searches, circulation and reference desks with work support rooms, ASSOCIATED FIRMClark and Sullivan Construction, General ContractorCAPACITY1,717COST PER SQ FT$262.51FEATURED IN2008 Architectural Portfolio areas for special requests and micrographics viewing, student study rooms, library administrative offices and general seating areas. These spaces are dispersed within a 13,000-square-foot, two-story periodical and general stacks area, with a north-facing, full-height glass curtainwall system.
Other spaces in the building include a coffee shop with interior and exterior seating; a 120-seat lecture room; two classrooms dedicated for computer applications instruction; 25 general classrooms with full audio, video and data connectivity; and office space for the dean’s administrative staff.
The exterior highlights finishes consisting of EIFS and sandstone veneers following suit with the standard color palette for the West Charleston Campus.
