The design of the library accommodates diversity among learners. For instance, for students who prefer total seclusion when they research, the library offers 20 small, windowless seminar rooms and five conference rooms. A huge hall with computers and a minimal amount of windows is available for individuals who are serious about studying, but who do not want total isolation. Strategically placed study areas around the rotunda are surrounded by books and stained glass, making the area ideal for people who prefer a sense of space. For those seeking more interaction, 88 seats face the perimeter window, next to the reflective pond, lawn and plaza.
The $2.5 million Annex project consists of an academic center, audio/video center, graphic/printing center, food court and a bookstore. The academic center includes an auditorium with tiered seating plus five classrooms.
