The Welcome Center also functions as an information source to campus visitors. Self-serve kiosks situated throughout the facility enable students to use online enrollment services, as well as access the Internet and their e-mail accounts through a secured network server. The center occupies 28,000 square feet of the new $25.8 million, 543,140-square-foot parking garage facility. A new retail center with food service is situated in the same building.
The facility is constructed in an updated version of the original 1930s material palette: buff brick, glazed tile, aluminum and clear glass, all of which help to salute UH history and reinforce the campus identity.
